As a participant of these courses, however, there are some things you should remember before jumping into the deep end. These courses are designed for professionals already working in the field, so a lot of topics are covered over the course of a few months. So if you’re just getting started with the world of Microsoft 365, then you need to read over these courses more than once to get all of the information.
Start with the Basics. There are three core courses that you should look into when taking these courses. The first is the Basics for Microsoft 365. In this class, you’ll learn about what Microsoft 365 is, how it works, what it’s used for, how to use it properly, and how to set it up within your company. After this class, you can then decide whether or not you want to continue your education and take more courses. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint!
The second course is more of an in-depth training course. This one covers everything about Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word Processing, OneNote, AutoCAD, and Visual Studio. All of these tools will be put together to teach you how to utilize Microsoft 365 as a web based business solution. You’ll also see how to convert PDF files to Word documents, how to create and customize forms, how to use Microsoft Sharepoint applications, how to publish information, how to manage email, calendars, contacts, schedules, and more.
The third course is not related to any other program, but rather the one that took place during your Associate’s degree. It is the Microsoft 365 Foundations Certification Training. This course covers everything about the Microsoft 365 platform including installation, design, project management, testing, deployment, and maintenance. While you might not think any of this would apply to your business or your job, it is something worth knowing. Any web-based business will benefit from knowing how to project, design, and implement a proper system.
Most of these courses can be taken over a period of 10 weeks, depending on your level of experience and the number of courses you need to finish. Some of these courses will be offered in classroom settings, while others will be web-based. Regardless of the type of course you take, though, there is bound to be something that interests you.
The best way to learn how to make Microsoft 365 work for you is to simply get started using it yourself. Sign up for the trials, so you can get an overview of what it offers and start creating your own work methods. After creating your own work habits and methods, experiment with the different methods to see which ones produce the best results for you and your team. If one method isn’t working, then move on to another until you find the right fit.
The final course is going to cover security and compliance. It goes into greater detail than the previous two courses, as this one focuses more on the application and system functionality. This gives you greater flexibility when working with Microsoft 365 as you can develop applications that work seamlessly with the solutions. When security is involved, though, it can be much more complex since all of your customer information is at risk. By taking the time to do the research and learn about the solutions you need to work with, you’ll have no trouble understanding and implementing proper security procedures to keep your data safe and secure.
