Exam 70-777 – Using Microsoft Excel to Analyze and Visualize Data

There are few exams that give students an opportunity to learn how to analyze and visualize data with Microsoft Excel. The exam, Certified Microsoft Intermediate (MMI) covers four main topics – data types, formulas and other data structures, worksheets, and VBA. This article looks at analyzing and visualizing data in Microsoft Excel. After reading this article, you should have a good idea about what types of data can be visualized with Microsoft Excel.

Most of us know that basic data analysis is the process of identifying what data or information is relevant to a certain topic and then determining how it can be best represented or presented. Data can also be analyzed using basic logic and models. Data visualization is a way to present data in a more appealing form. You can also visualize data in order to make inferences. Visualization and analysis tools are available to aid in the process of visualizing data.

In the exam 70-779, you will need to complete eight different test pages in order to pass. Your test page will most likely be spread across two pages. In the test page, you will be required to analyze or visualize two sets of data in Excel. One set of data will be from an Excel table and the other set of data will come from a worksheet. If you select to analyze the worksheet data, you must use the Select Data option from the ribbon. If you select to analyze the table data, you must use the Data Methods drop-down menu.

Once you have chosen which sets of data to analyze, you can then use the Data Explorer feature of Microsoft Excel to choose related Excel objects that reference these data sets. For example, if you have an Excel table named “My Data” in your Excel workbook, you will then want to select the appropriate objects that relate to My Data in the Explorer pane. You will then be able to select the relevant charts from the Data Explorer pane.

One trick that students often find useful is to use the Move To option while analyzing a data set. By selecting the Move To button, you will be able to select the chart from the worksheet, and then hover your mouse over the chart to reveal a pop-up menu. You can then choose the Compare option in order to compare the chart to the existing data in the chart.

One thing that many people do not realize when they examine and visualize data in Microsoft Excel is that the color of the chart does not necessarily have to be the same as the color of the data. The values of any variable can appear in a different color to better illustrate the data. For instance, if you are presenting data about sales tax, you may wish to use the red color in order to best show the trend in the data. In this case, you would use the Excel Chart Tools “palette” to select a palette’s color with the data that you are comparing in order to match the color scheme of the other parts of the chart. The best thing about using a palette in Excel is that you can change the colors without having to restart the chart. This is useful when you need to examine and visualize data in order to make the necessary changes.

There are also a number of chart options available that are not related to the data that you are visualizing. These include the title bar, the size of the bars, and the legend. You can even select to add some additional data-filled columns to the chart. One useful tip that Excel users recommend is that you do not have to always choose the normal size bar for a bar chart. You can instead select the “fit” option so that the data plot will fill the width of the chart.

Finally, the third tool that you can use in your chart is the Vogram. A well designed Vogram will visually tell readers what percent of your sales is derived from one group and what percent comes from another. These types of graphs that are commonly used for the purpose of risk management and analysis. The Vogram option in Microsoft Excel is often a good option to use when you are analyzing data. This makes sense because you are trying to interpret the data as closely as possible.
